“I want to inspire people through my art by inviting them to appreciate our planet's beauty and fragility while raising awareness and emphasizing the importance of protecting our natural world for future generations.

As a photographer, I feel obligated to share and reveal what inspired me to take each shot, what happened leading up to and during the moment, and the thoughts racing through my mind throughout the entire process.

Once I process an image and write down its story, I take great pleasure in transforming walls into conversation pieces that bring people together.”

- George Jaimes.

Hi, my name is George, and I'm a Fine Art Photographer.

I'm a self-taught Photographer with a background in Digital Arts and Sciences. I came from a family of creators and artists; my dad (now in his 80's) was a professional photographer, and my uncle (who sadly passed away several years ago) was a professional illustrator; both of them excel in their field, and their creativity and passion for detail inspired me to become a Fine Arts Photographer.

For over twenty years, I offered my artwork to a small group of collectors and firms, working for them under commissions … but I felt the urge to communicate a broader message through my work. A message that may inspire people to look at the beauty of our cities, seas, landscapes, and everything that our planet brings us. From a fresh sunrise to a golden sunset, I want us to look at this beauty and fall in love with our world again.

In January 2020, the World Health Organization announced the outbreak of COVID-19. This Pandemic changed us all and changed the planet. For almost two years, humankind lived isolated and in fear. But, ironically, while most of us "stayed at home," nature took this time to heal; we witnessed a unique moment in history, a never before seen resurgence of our environment. Beyond the virus outbreak, there lay beauty. Whether in a small town, a big city, or off-the-grid, it was undeniable that we were witnessing a transformation of our planet. A shift into a better world and environment. Not directly because of a virus, but because, for a moment, we all reduced our carbon footprint. For a moment, we stopped driving, flying, and commuting. For a moment, we paused the use of fossil fuels. It was an unintentional moment in which global warming slowed down.

As a result, the earth displayed cleaner skies, beaches, oceans, and pollution-free cityscapes. For a moment, we rediscovered our planet's beauty. I was urged to capture these moments, these images, the joy of our world, and the pleasure we find in beautiful sunsets and sunrises. So I gathered all these moments and freeze-framed them into compelling images that tell us a story, a feeling, a journey. It was then that I realized that my crusade in search of the beauty in our surroundings went beyond the Pandemic. Today, several months after our communities have rebooted, we can still find beauty around us, but we need to learn how to live in harmony with the planet. We must deeply appreciate the beauty around us and realize that those views may become distant memories if we don't take action and reduce the damage we are inflicting upon the only planet we have to live on.

May the moments and images captured by my camera's lens work as a communication artifact. Conversation pieces that remind us to look-at and conserve the magnificence of the planet in which we live.

← Long time ago at Liberty Island, NY.

I shot this selfie in Liberty Island, before even the word selfie exist :P … it was long time ago during our 4th anniversary. I extended my right arm, and pointed a small digital camera toward us; I asked my wife to look at the camera to confirm I was aiming it properly; she confirmed and I pushed the shutter button to freeze-frame this image with Manhattan and the Twin Towers witnessing the moment.

This happened more than twenty years ago; and I’m happy to say that I still feel this young, but day by day, more in love with the woman of my life.

Macro Photography (coming soon).

I captured these images using a 100mm f2.8 Macro Lens. The first image features a baby Spiny-Flower Praying Mantis, while the second one showcases a baby Flower Praying Mantis. At this stage of their development, they are known as nymphs, and they undergo various stages, called levels, during which they shed their exoskeleton until adulthood. At that point, many species fully develop their beauty and wings.

Here is a little bit about me:

  • I love to travel; it broadens my horizons, deepens my appreciation for the planet, and inspires me to create new artwork.

  • I have developed my own color process technique (Hybrid HDR) that reveals colors beyond what is visible to the naked eye.

  • I enjoy constantly learning new things about art and photography.

  • Currently, I am learning about macro-photography (scroll down to see some samples).

  • I am passionate about taking pictures (of course :P), painting, and sculpting (though I could improve at the last one :D). These activities help me feel connected to others, the planet, and myself.

  • Despite my hearing condition (80% hearing loss), I still enjoy life, music, movies, and having great conversations with friends and family.

  • I am deeply pleased when my artworks help individuals recall fond memories, uncover aesthetic joy, and find inner peace... but most of all, when my images inspire people to admire and take care of our world.
